Why Pick John Dunsworth and not someone who has a stutter?
This question relates to a scene we have planned in our film. We need to portray many different stutters and accompanying facial movements, in one scene. Yes we could use many clips, from different people but we are already doing that for most of the movie. This scene is specific in value, in that it needs to be done in a way, that people who do not stutter, can identify people who do.
We believe education is key to understanding and decreation of bullying.
Not only was Mr. Dunsworth the one who encouraged us to go forth with our project, he also has the experience and talent to pull it off.
Why travel just to Halifax and not all of Canada, or the world?
Travelling is costly and we want to make this film sooner, rather than later. While coming up with all the finer details, we decided that starting off out east was best. We can include people from all over the world through video, without actually having to travel, so that we can include people and their thoughts, from every race and nationality
What makes this film unique from others
There is no documentary on stuttering. There are treatment videos, personal, inspiring and fictional movies, but no real documentaries. This topic and the people it affects are well deserving of a movie that fully encompasses and educates people on stuttering.
Our project is also unique in it's involvement factor. We encourage people to get involved and have their say about this film. If you stutter, we want to hear what topics you want touched on and if you don't stutter, tell us what you'd like to know regarding the topic. Contributors are rewarded with big involvement opportunities that will shape this film.
Why go independent & not team up with a non-profit or get a company to cover the costs?
If we went with a network or non-profit, total creative control would not be ours. We would run the risk of being censored or restricted to talking about only certain topics. We aren't insinuating that there is something to dig up, we are just being prepared in case there were. We also love the community involvement factor that crowdfunding brings. If people want a project to happen, they will back it instead of a company putting out what they think people want and looking for a profit before releasing. We want to find the information and present it to you, unbiased, uncensored & as low cost as possible
How does the interview work and why should I pay to be in a movie?
You aren't actually paying to be in a movie. Our thank you for such a large contribution is to give you some screen time. This reward is also optional, like the rest, so people who don't wish to be on screen, but would like the other gear can opt out.
If you are on our travel route, we will arrange to meet with you and shoot an interview personally. If you are located elsewhere, we will host the interview through video chat, most likely through Skype. Interviews will likely be 30-45mins long, with clips of the footage being used somewhere in the film. We email most questions to you ahead of time so that you may prepare, though be advised, some questions may just pop up during comfortable conversation. Before doing the interview, you'll need to sign a standard consent form, so that we can use the footage in the film.
How does the live feed work and will we be able to invite friends?
As far as plans currently go, you will receive a code that is your entry into the live feeds. We aren't sure if the code is one use only or can be entered from multiple IPs, but once we know for sure, we will update our sites. As a contributor at that level, the code is essentially yours; if you invite friends over, or share the code with them, that is up to you.

For the personal signed t-shirts and stuff, do they have to say our name?
In short, No. We will ahve to approve what you'd like, but mostly likely we will be okay with it. Racial, hate speech or otherwise related is prohibited. We will email to ask what you'd like
About the dinner pack, where will it be and why the restriction?
Restrictions were based on time. Location is somewhere within the chosen city and can be discussed through email. No place in particular has been picked
Does the ad space have to be for a business? How big is it? Why so much for 1 ad?
Ad space can be used for any logos, messages or even just your picture. We must approve this first, as we do have to travel around for 2 weeks in this vehicle.
It will cover most of, the side of the door.
With over 90 cities being travelled through and the gatherings we will cause with our street interviews; many thousands will see your ad, not to mention you are helping out a great cause. We had to find a reasonalble price, while considering businesses ability to be a higher contributor and this was the result.
The cities you have listed, are they the only ones you will be visiting?
There are many more cities we are passing through or near. Check out our map and if your city is along the path, or very near to it, you'll probably qualify for an interview. We don't mind taking a bit of a detour to keep that personal involvement.
Most movies I see need $200,000 or more to make, why is your cost so low?
We believe in quality and quantity. We don't believe it has to cost a fortune. We spent many hours comparing cameras to make sure we could have cinema quality, without paying $1,000s for one. We chose our equipment and travel means, specifically to keep our costs low and be able to perform properly. Innovation at it's finest, I tell ya.
Obviously with more money, we could do more. Like create a sperate, entirely educational disc or grab some equipment we vitoed from the base amount. Our lowest cost possible at this point is $17,480, exactly. Any extra, makes the film go further and more things possible
