Taking on any project is no cake walk, even harder with one this size and that you have to do it in your spare time.

 

I wouldn't have it any other way though, projects are one of my specialties and this one is getting all my attention. This endeavour started with a small idea, that blossomed through encouragement and hopefully will transform into something magnificant. The feedback recieved makes those all nighters worth every eye twitch. 

It's not just about the effort going into this though, it's about the people involved. All over forums are stories from so many people that want change. They are sick of feeling bullied, made fun of, misunderstood and prevented from reaching their dreams; all because society misunderstands what it means to stutter.

 

So much emphasis is on vocal communication, yet we allow ourselves to dwindle down the english language through "text" to little more than consonants. That aside, the general knowledge on stuttering, stammering and speech fluency issues is so lacking I'm surprised the schools are not reddened with shame. It's shocked me to see what little has been done to raise awareness, to educate and to promote acceptance. Instead we see movies that highlight stigmas like, someone with a stutter has lower intelligence or cannot accomplish the same, as someone who doesn't stutter.

 

This needs to change and blogs just aren't going to do it. People don't want to spend hours reading, they want video. They want to be shown the information, the insight and the heartache. People want real stories & information; most just don't want to spend all that time investigating it themselves.

 

That's where we come in. Investigating stuttering is what this project is all about and we promise to do a thorough job of just that. We can't do it alone though, we need your help.
